Our Service Fabric Awnings

Our awnings are known for being able to withstand hurricanes and tropical storms where many others have failed. We craft our awnings using the best materials, design and engineering practices. We focus on efficient truss design as well as reinforcing weak points that generally fail during storms. We do not upcharge or cut corners when it comes critical anchors, connections, welds, and fasteners.

- We use thick-walled hot dipped galvanized steel (schedule 40) or schedule 40 aluminum, never thin-walled pipe like gator shield or conduit
- We do not use zinc plated fasteners, always stainless steel and galvanized anchors
- Base plates and connectors are always hot dipped galvanized
- All frame corners are mitered and fully welded together, completely sealing the pipe interior from the corrosive effects of moisture and salt air
- All fabricated metal frames are properly primed and painted

Walker Canvas Awning has been providing home owners, contractors, and businesses throughout South Florida with custom awnings and canopies for over thirty years. All of our products are fabricated at our 22,000 square foot facility located at 5190 NW 10th Terrace in Fort Lauderdale. The size of our facility enables us to handle projects of all sizes and complete them in a timely manner. We can provide elegant and functional solutions to your awning design problems. Eventually, all awning fabric wears out and will need to be replaced. We can affordably recover your old awning frames with new fabric in whatever color you desire. Our awning covers are electronically welded together for a weather-tight seal and are covered by a five year prorated warranty. Should your frame need attention we can provide that service as well.

Design Specifications
Fascia Details
- Height: 6″ to 14″ (8″ to 10″ optimal)
- Material: Minimum 1/8″ aluminum for mitered and welded corners
- Note: Thinner aluminum requires visible screws and caulking in place of welds (common in industrial truck court applications)
Projection Options
- Standard: 4′ to 6′ (optimal)
- Aesthetic: Shorter eyebrows for design purposes
- Extended: Longer projections possible with thicker material, enhanced framing, or additional columns
- Cantilever: Systems without hanging arms require larger support struts, designed with deeper fascia
Span Capabilities
- Walkways: 7′-6″ to 10′ typical spans
- Luxury Pergolas: 15′-6″ by 22′ grids available
- Column Sizes: 4″ for typical walkways, 6″ to 8″ for luxury/larger spans
Decking Systems
- Standard: 6″ Pan decking for hanging canopies
- Large Spans: Cap and Pan construction
- Insulated: Aluminum panels for enhanced R-Value, cooler temperatures, noise reduction
Rain Water Management
- Internal Gutters: Pitched toward or away from building
- Options: Free outflow, downspout connection, or internal column routing

- Powder-Coated: Durable, weather-resistant finish
